Hawks Cosplay Wings
Lead fabrication artist on commissioned costume prop wings for @zeriatalia. The wings are articulated with pull cords affixed to each side to be able to raise and lower each wing separately. We wanted the whole apparatus to be able to break down for ease of transport, so the base of each wing slides into a bracket on a main base plate, which is then worn like a backpack underneath the jacket of the costume.

Covering the PVC pipe framework with red felt to act as a base structure.
Adding cut foam feathers.
Felt base covered with hand-cut craft foam feathers.
Foam feathers spray painted to achieve a color more accurate to the real feathers yet to be added.
Adding final layer of real feathers for texture and detail.
